How to set the Blackberry Bold to take Black and White Photographs
A reader, Anourack, emailed me to ask how I take the images for blackandwhiteberry in black and white. So here is a new tutorial post that will deal with how to set the camera on the blackberry bold to black and white:
Go to the full post to see a step by step guide!
Select camera:
Press the menu button:
Select Options:
Select "Color Effect" and change to "Black & White":
Now you will be taking pictures in black and white ready to email or using an ap such as the flickr application to upload direct.
Thanks to Anourack for asking me how to do this and please feel free to email me with any suggestions for future tutorials.
Cheers,
Andy

Photography Tips
I have learnt alot about using the blackberry as a camera on the go in the past month and so I thought I would start to add a regular post with some hints, tips and tricks. To start off here is one that is very simple but helped a lot, it has to do with the 'return key'.
The camera can be fired using the return key or enter key (the one that looks like a bent arrow) as well as the track ball. Using the return key means that alot less force needs to be applied and so you are far less likley to get motion blur from the camera moving due to a heavy handed "click". On the bold the return key is close to the bottom right and so can be depressed with your right thumb while securely holding the phone steady with both hands.
This should mean that clearer pictures can be taken, especially at night. Like these shots for example:
Two Tube
In this shot by holding the camera steady I was able to keep the inside of the tube sharp while the station behind blurred as the tube pulled away.
Regents Park Tube
This shot was taken at night but by holding the camera steady I was able to keep the signs sharp while the traffic blurred.
Hope that was usefull! A
